From caustic posts and insulting behavior, to bullying celebrities off their social media accounts, and actively sabotaging product with false reviews… social media and the Internet can certainly become very toxic very quickly. Doctor Who has certainly never been immune from it, either; witness the reaction over the first female Doctor. While there is always room for debate and discussion, toxic fandom online is a serious problem. How can we, as fans, combat this negative force within our own fandom communities?
